Recycling Update 2023 Survey Results

RECYCLING UPDATE 2023 SURVEY RESULTS

The RU Program Committee and the NCRA Board would like to thank all those who completed the RU post-event survey. We received 90 responses, among the highest in recent years. This feedback is of incredible value to us and will help shape the location, programming and vision for RU 2024!

Before we go into further summary; we’d like to congratulate our raffle winners:

    • Anna Oliva, City of San Rafael Climate Corps, who received the Green Education Certification Course and
    • Andy Buck, Upper Valley Disposal, St. Helena, who will be attending RU 2024 as our guest.

Now about the survey…..

94% of respondents marked being very satisfied or satisfied with the topics presented

93% marked being very satisfied or satisfied with the overall experience of the conference

86 out of 90 felt represented, included, and welcomed

83% attended in person, while 14% attended virtually

75% think NCRA should continue to offer hybrid RU programming

While we received extremely positive feedback, there are some areas of improvement. We are committed to making these happen in 2024.

60% of respondents believe RU 2023 reflected NCRA’s ongoing work on diversity, equity, and inclusion

39% would like for RU to return to the East Bay (Freight & Salvage or another BART accessible venue)

32% would like to see more time for networking

Now that COVID is no longer a public health emergency we plan to return free coffee and lunch, and yes… even bring back the Tin Plates. We’ll plan to dedicate more time and space for networking as Green Drinks popularity continues to grow.

As always we are committed to expand and bring you the most cutting-edge Zero Waste programming in Northern California and beyond.Topics ranging from reuse to repair, recycling markets to carbon sequestration, EPR and product stewardship and of course the latest in Zero Waste programs and legislation, environmental justice and equitable community outreach.

Thank you, The RU Program Committee
