Position Description
The ideal candidate will be an experienced program manager who has had responsibility for solid waste management and sustainability programs within an organization. He/she will bring credibility, knowledge and experience within the sustainability field. The Recycling Outreach and Sustainability Manager (ROSM) will need to be a strategic, innovative and entrepreneurial thinker with strong leadership, interpersonal and engagement skills. This is a rare opportunity and affords the future ROSM a professional avenue to make a positive impact, not only for the SBWMA’s member agencies, but also on a state-wide scale. This position reports to the SBWMA’s Executive Director.
Experience
Eight (8) years of professional recycling, outreach and sustainability program experience including five (5) years in planning, developing, implementing, and managing sizable programs.
Salary
Starting annual salary range is $93,000 - $108,000.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, and effectively communicate with a variety of individuals and groups. Experience

Job SummaryThe UCSF Capital Programs & Facilities Management Department designs, builds, operates and maintains UCSF facilities in support of its research, teaching, health care and community service missions. Required Qualifications High school graduation and one (1) year experience as a building maintenance worker or an equivalent combination of education and experience; ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic calculations; one (1) year experience working with a recycling program; ability to educate and communicate the importance of recycling and other environmental concerns to staff, faculty, and students; professional attitude, good verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of MS Word and Excel; ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently; lift 50 pounds; bend, stoop and walk for extended periods of time; and work in inclement weather conditions; possession of a valid California Driver’s License. Volunteer & Help CUESA be Waste Wise
The Center for Urban Education About Sustainable Agriculture is proud to launch it's new Waste Wise Farmers Market. In an effort to green the market, we're introducing custom-made Waste Wise stations and informational displays around the market. To ensure every can, plate, fork, and crumb makes it to the right place, we'll need a team of volunteer monitors each week.
As a Waste Wise station monitor, not only will you help divert tons of waste from a landfill, you'll also help educate thousands of shoppers about being waste wise.
We need volunteers every Tuesday from 9:30am - 2pm beginning April 15, and every Saturday from 7:30am - 2pm beginning April 19th. This opportunity is perfect for both individuals and groups of all ages. Each day will begin with a half hour training and refreshments. Gloves, aprons and PikStiks will be provided.
